It all started as professional photographer Ed Cooley was pursuing his passion looking for the perfect shots in remote areas of the Ozark National Forest in Arkansas when some unstable terrain sent him 30 feet down off the end of a bluff into a creek bed. This week, a small team of environmental activists, adventurers and media professionals are paddling the 130 mile stretch of the Columbia River from Portland, OR to the Pacific Ocean.
